WHAT IS A PCO Precinct Committee Officer

Being a Precinct Committee Officer (PCO) is one of the most important roles in our party. As a PCO, you are on the front lines of winning elections up and down the ballot – from the School Board to the Senate. Here’s what PCOs do:
  • PCOs are the main point of information and contact for voters in your neighborhood and within the Democratic Party.
  • PCOs are also a central part of their local Democratic organization. They elect Party leadership and help fill vacancies in elected office.

HOW DO I BECOME A PCO?

You can be elected to a 2-year term as PCO by your neighbors in the August primary in even-numbered years. To do so, you’ll need to file to run for PCO with your county auditor. Don’t worry: it’s fast, free, and you can do it online:

  1. First, click here to find this year’s filing and election dates.
  2. Then, click here to file for PCO!

But don’t worry if you missed the election. If there’s no Democratic PCO in your precinct, your local Democratic Party organization can appoint you as a PCO: Contact your local Party organization to learn about becoming an appointed or acting PCO.
